Overview
The Well Wishers were a cannibalistic group known for their creepy, frightening, or at times, humorous interactions with other survivors still left in Chernarus. Remembered for their signature steaks left at water wells, they brought a certain type of fear to the villages of Chernarus that left many watching over their shoulder with every drink they took.

Alignment
The Well Wishers identified themselves as neutral evil, valuing freedom and order to be used in gaining power over others. As cannibals, they recognize that their actions are viewed as evil by common minds and they are not afraid to tell it as it is. Though their intentions were initially pure, their hunt for a new civilization of strong and well-fed people would go on to devolve into a twisted game.

Appearance
The Well Wishers were mostly rural people who wore ordinary clothing. Their signature look was a leather hat, for which they never revealed the source material - with many assuming that it was the skin of their victims.

Origins
Made up of former farm hands, butchers, and common townsfolk, The Well Wishers tried their best to continue to live off the land when the infection hit. After securing a secluded hillside, they established a small community for survivors. For years, they were able to sustain their community through the efforts of their farm, and livestock breeding. However, their fortunes would change in a flash. A dozen zombies followed a stray goose onto the quiet hillside and before the night was over, a score of men had fallen and the livestock were all scattered or killed. As hunger grew and supplies diminished, a plan to move was initiated. The Well Wishers travelled south to Guglovo only to find the city looted clean, and its occupants long-dead. The men and women could go no farther; this was the end of the line. A few died of exhaustion in their sleep, and many considered them fortunate. At sunrise, several men and women wasted no time, gnawing at the raw flesh off their fallen comrades like a dog on a bone. At first the sight was horrifying, but before long there was no other choice. In difficult times, hunger united those that would become Well Wishers.

Territory
The Well Wishers claimed no territory, and frequently travelled city to city - leaving steaks at wells for survivors to eat, or to rope unsuspecting people in as bait.

Goals
The goals of the Well Wishers were as follows:

*To convince a frail world to do what it takes to survive, and to have no shame.

*To do whatever it takes to ensure none of their own go hungry again.

*To unlock the secret to creating the best blood sauce in all of Chernarus.

Values
The Well Wishers acknowledged and respected moral strength. They understood the benefits of a good relationship when it presented itself, as long as it didn't even hint at compromising their goals or ideology. And finally, of course, they valued a plump living creature ready for the taking.

History
As a group of survivors, the Well Wishers were originally pushed to the brink and forced to eat human flesh to survive. Years after Day Zero, and after many meals consisting of all types of flesh, the group’s remnants had almost treated their cannibalism as a game of cat and mouse at the expense of other survivors. Maddie Adder, a local who may or may not have been experimented on by unethical scientists, was their leader and often spoke in rhymes or prose when talking with non-members. One of the leaders of the sacrificial Cult of Papa named Bog Petrov offered Maddie Adder “tea”, which he obsessed over and made all the other members of the Well Wishers consume. Whether he knew or not, he and the rest of the Well Wishers had informally become a tool for the Cult of Papa. Other groups would later take up the “tea” and indirectly (and sometimes directly) aid the Cult, such as the Gilligan Gang.

The group’s claim to infamy came in the form of gifts known as “well-wishes” that they left at drinking pumps throughout the area, but they were also known to leave report cards or threatening messages at community camps such as St. Finnigans (later called St. Joseph’s). Targets that were easily manipulated or in need of water were the most common victims - either they were victims of human steaks left at the wells, or victims themselves under the knives and saws of the Well Wishers. Maddie Adder used these interactions and conversations at wells and camps to spread the idea of the “Tea” to others, in the hopes that other survivors would have “tea parties” with him and eventually join forces with the Well Wishes or with the Cult. At times the group would also reinforce other factions, such as the reclusive Black Paw - although it is still entirely unknown what Maddie and others received out of such arrangements.

The Well Wishers were noted all over Chernarus for their creepy laughs, poems, and their willingness to consume other survivors. This notoriety, however, understandably brought to the group a variety of enemies and conflicts. Their main rival was the Brotherhood, who went on the offensive soon after their arrival in Chernarus in the hopes of ending the Well Wishers. One by one, it seemed that through the anti-cannibal efforts of groups like the Brotherhood and Chernarus Defense League, the Well Wisher’s time would come to an end. The dissolution of the faction came and went, but that did not stop what remained of the group from continuing their mission. Members such as Maddie continued to fight with the Cult of Papa until his death months after the fracture of the Well Wishers, and others like Erk resumed their reign of terror with chainsaw in hand.

Notable Members
Maddie Adder - a play on the title “Mad Hatter,” Maddie was the leader of the group and well-known throughout Chernarus for his antics and casual brutality. He is remembered for his song “Friar in the Fryer” mocking the death of St. Joseph’s founder, Friar Joseph.

Erk - Erk was a young member of the Well Wishers most famous for his friendly, unsuspecting nature and for being in love with his chainsaw.

Relationships
Cult of Papa - The Well Wishers saw the Cult as friends in that both enjoyed sacrificing survivors and occasionally partook in the consumption of said survivors. The Cult was also responsible for spreading the paranoia called “The Tea” that the Well Wishers whole-heartedly believed made them stronger.

The Well-Wisher’s enemies were numerous - but of those most interested in the elimination of the Well Wishers, the Brotherhood would be considered the most notable by far. The Well Wishers' existence as a collective was completely at odds with the Brotherhood and what they stood for, leading to an ideological schism that frequently devolved into violence.

Overview
Winslow Coltrane (real name Clayton Driftwood) was a leader of the Vigil credited with keeping the group together during the bloody East vs. West conflict of 2020-21. Throughout 2021, Winslow developed a reputation for “snitching” after he was careless with information which Zirka believed could get her killed. Rather than killing him to ensure his silence, she instead chose to spare his life in exchange for a “life debt”. Unbeknownst to Winslow, she intended to use to have him serve as bait to lure a member of the Cult of Papa into a trap. Winslow’s reputation for loose lips also drew the attention of the Forsaken Loyalists, who had suspected him of working with both Dark as Midnight and the Scribes against their interests. Without informing the Vigil, Winslow began making a series of decisions in an attempt to clear the Vigil and himself of the trouble he got into which instead brought the Vigil significantly more hardship.

Upon discovering Zirka’s plan, Winslow was terrified and unsuccessfully attempted to murder her (who he had grown close with) leading to her eventual capture by Dark as Midnight. After surviving an attempt on his life by the Wanderers, Forsaken Loyalists, and Serdtse Stai, Winslow went into hiding under the protection of Dark as Midnight. The apocalypse gang ultimately handed him over to both the Carnival and Vigil, resulting in his death at the hands of his best friend and co-leader, Shifty.

Appearance
Origins
Prior to the apocalypse, Clayton was a member of a family of serial killers operating in Texas between 1965 and 1985. In 1986, state police uncovered evidence of the Driftwood family’s murders and Clayton’s mother was shot and captured during a resulting shoot out. During the chaos, Clayton, his brother, and his sister escaped through an intricate network of tunnels and graves located below the family home. The pair of brothers attempted to flee the country with the assistance of an accomplice. Meanwhile, the sister continued alone on a further killing spree before eventually being brought into custody.

Clayton, his brother, and accomplice were eventually captured after crashing their vehicle on a major highway. While in custody, the three men learnt that the mother committed suicide in the middle of interrogation. The trio each received a death sentence. While awaiting the lengthy appeals process, Clayton and his brother escaped during a prisoner riot where they murdered multiple corrections officers. The family took the family of the prison warden hostage and blackmailed him into arranging the escape of their sister. Clayton’s siblings decided to flee to Mexico, whilst Clayton opted to go his own way. He broke into the house of his cousin, Winslow Coltrane, stole his passport and assumed his identity. Clayton left the United States to live in an isolated cabin within Siberia where he lived alone for many decades until the events of the infection began.

Having lived in hiding for close to thirty years, Clayton attempted to find redemption in the post-apocalyptic new world and vowed to help people.

Demeanour
Choosing to dress in the post-apocalyptic world in typical rural American attire, Winslow made no attempt at hiding his origins. Despite living in Russia for three decades, Winslow never lost his distinctive Texan accent. Slow to anger and difficult to intimidate, Winslow rarely resorted to violence - despite the temperament of people in the new world. By the end of his time in South Zagoria, Winslow had killed very few people, and only ever in self defense. The guilt of his past weighed on his mind significantly, and the deaths of various bandits at his hands brought the man a large amount of pain.

The apocalypse gang ultimately handed him over to both the Carnival and Vigil, resulting in his death at the hands of his best friend and co-leader, Shifty.x

---> doesn't help him, despite that being his life goal
-> Winslow protected by BC, realises he can't go back to Bor because FL (also what Georgie said)
->> stays to heal, goes to Gorka, begs for shelter in their territory, figuring FL wouldn't find him here, "I have nowhere to go"

Death and Aftermath
DAMN takes him in, he doesn't know why they agree to take him in
-> Tom Sock suggests Winslow could be a useful tool
-> Doesn't happen because Tom Sock disappears (assumed dead)

Zirka is a warboy, Winslow doesn't suspect until
-> he tries to leave, DAMN refuse, take him to Lollipop tower, to get them to be more evil by killing him (as they had done the DC rebranding)
-> Vigil summoned to Lollipop by DAMN
-> they present Winslow to them
-> Shifty gives Winslow a hate speech, you caused so much damage, "fuck this I'm done" (throws armband)
-> Shifty kills Winslow, he says sorry as his final words, only Zirka (the warboy) hears him

Where are they now?
After surviving the attempt on his life by the Forsaken Loyalists, Wanderers, and Serdtse Stai, Winslow went into hiding in Gorka under the care of Dark as Midnight. The apocalypse gang grew increasingly frustrated at who they saw as a mooch and were in the middle of negotiating his handover to the Forsaken Loyalists. After a month in their care, Winslow attempted to leave Gorka, enraging Dark as Midnight who dragged him to Green Mountain, where they expected the Carnival to “prove themselves” and execute the man for going into hiding and betraying the West.

Members of the Vigil were present and berated Winslow for dragging them into numerous conflicts and betraying what the Vigil stood for, including leaving them behind to pick up the pieces. Winslow was killed by his long-time friend and co-leader, Shifty on the 17th of August 2021. His final words of “I’m sorry” went unheard to all present but Zirka, who later consumed his corpse in its entirety.

Relationships
Kate - Someone else he tried to help that ended up being the catalyst to his death and the thing that started it all

Shifty - Winslow's closest friend and co-leader of the Vigil. The two were central figures in South Western politics and were virtually inseparable. After learning the extent of Winslow's deeds, Shifty executed Winslow for dragging Vigil into so much trauma.

Ted - Another of Winslow's closest friends

Zirka - war child that started it all

Jean - Vigil member he sought advice from (moral compass)

"Silent" Joe Fraser - president of FL that shot him

"Blind" Blake Tirty - someone he helped that later came into conflict with

Vriska - spymaster he snitched to

Ekho - Tried to help with his psychosis and ultimately failed

Harry Churches - Reminded Winslow that there was still hope

HerrKurt -

Group/Faction Affiliation: The Fireflies

Status: Alive

Harry Churches is the current leader of the Fireflies. He is on a mission of justice and sometimes revenge against the criminals and bandits of South Zagoria. Harry is the leader and founding member of the Fireflies. The Fireflies under his leadership strive to protect the innocent and rid the world of all the corrupt immoral survivors. He is known as someone who stands up for the little guy against the oppressive factions of Chernarus, and for his speeches of hope to all of the country.

Appearance
Harry Churches is identifiable by his yellow armband which marks him as a Firefly, and is commonly seen wearing a rather simple choice of clothes; a black shirt and dark blue jeans.

Origins
Harry Churches grew up in England. He was an average man who lived an average life before the apocalypse. In his own words he “didn’t really accomplish much” during that period of his life. Growing up Harry learnt to stand up for himself, and would often get into fights at school with kids who were much bigger than him. Harry’s father would always instill strong moral values in Harry making sure he understood the difference between right and wrong. As an adult Harry went on fishing trips with his father to get away from it all. After a week-long fishing trip with his father resulted in their boat capsizing he became stranded in a nearby country, and found out the world had collapsed while he’d been gone. After a few years of learning how to survive as a bandit, he arrived in Chernarus in the beginning of 2020.

Demeanor
Harry Churches is considered by most to be a stubborn uncompromising man. He has a my way or the highway mentality, and has been known to be very blunt, and rudely honest. To put it in his words, "bad people are often charismatic, and I'm often a jerk." In dangerous scenarios he will not hesitate to get violent if the need presents itself, and historically he has not responded well to bragging about brutal actions or threats from his enemies.

Actions
Harry encountered a group known as the Black Cross shortly after his arrival. Their ideals and citizenship program gave Harry proof that a civilized society could still thrive even in a world like this. After witnessing the horrors and several massacres that took place in the subsequent months however, Harry came to the conclusion that rebuilding society is possible, but only if people are willing to fight to protect it. Harry then founded the Fireflies with a few others and created a group willing to do what is needed to save the innocent and one day restore society.

In the summer of 2020 a friend of Harry Churches, Kaylee of the Black Sheep, was kidnapped by Dark as Midnight, who wanted Kaylee for her unborn baby. In the altercation of her kidnapping Harry Churches was shot in the jaw and incapacitated, leaving him with a horrible scar on his chin. Harry carried immense guilt for not being able to stop her kidnapping and his scar served as a reminder never to hesitate in the face of evil again. The daughter of Kaylee was rescued however and after her mother's death Harry Churches grew an affinity for the baby Esther believing she represented a new hope for the world and wanting to protect her as penance for not saving her mother.

In the summer and autumn of 2021 Harry Churches gave several speeches. The most notable of which was known as the “Always Hope” speech. In the speech Harry inspires the people of Chernarus to hold onto their morals and calls for all bandits to start down a path of redemption. In another speech which took place at Samaritan's funeral Harry stood up and addressed the entirety of Cheranrus calling everyone in attendance at the funeral a coward for not standing up to Samaritan's murderers, and attempted to rally a war party of angry grief stricken friends of Samaritan to storm Gorka for revenge. After this Harry Churches became much more harsh in the way he combatted banditry and criminals, making several changes to the policy of the Fireflies.

It was around this time that a young boy named Bobby River, a former Firefly and son-like figure to Harry Churches who had left for Torchwood, arrived in Pusta. Once he arrived the two had a conversation putting their bad history in the past and forgiving each other for pushing the other away. It was during this conversation that Harry admitted he saw Bobby like a son. Bobby then left to attempt to bridge another gap between him and Torchwood which had come about after he’d left their group as well, however this ended with the Warden of Torchwood forcing a newly indoctrinated recruit by the name of Wes Goodwin, who was also once a Firefly to shoot the child in the chest proving his devotion to Torchwood.

Bobby came to the Fireflies for help, who were able to remove the bullet and save his life thanks to some skillful surgery. The Wardens’ actions enraged Harry, reigniting a pre-existing rivalry between Torchwood and the Fireflies when Harry threatened Torchwood for what they’d done. After this Cain and the rest of Torchwood arrived at the gates of Pusta demanding that Harry Churches revoke his threat, but after refusing to do so, and hours of arguing, eventually Torchwood stormed the compound and in the ensuing battle Acolyte Peter was killed by Harry Churches. While Torchwood did succeed in taking the Firefly compound, it was at a high price due to Peter’s death.

Some time later in the winter of 2021 Harry Churches’ seemingly indomitable will power was broken. He left the Fireflies and Chernarus fleeing to Takistan with the intention of living out the rest of his days alone in the seclusion of the desert. Harry returned a few months later in early 2022 however, after hearing the news that the baby Esther had been kidnapped and murdered. Upon returning Harry frantically searched for the baby and found out the unfortunate news was true. This led to Harry beginning a quest of revenge against the groups involved and restarting the Fireflies, turning him into a much more bitter and brutal man over time as his crusade for justice had become personal.

Notable relationships
Harry Churches has made his fair share of enemies & allies during his time in Chernarus. The following are notable people who have either come to blows or had strong friendships with Harry Churches.

Cain the Messiah - Cain and Harry have always strived to make the world a better place in different ways making their relationship particularly unique. In the early days of the Fireflies, Cain the leader of Torchwood initially wanted to help the upcoming group creating an alliance between the two. On August 3rd 2020 however, Cain brought what was perceived as a child hostage to the Firefly compound resulting in the outbreak of a war after the Fireflies liberated the hostage. Over the years the two characters have momentarily put their differences aside for temporary alliances against greater evils, however these alliances have always ended shortly afterwards, resulting in the two becoming at odds once again.

Matt - Given his name by Harry for the hazmat suit he always wore, Matt was a close friend of Harry Churches and right hand man to the group leader. Matt was the archetype of a Firefly, and everything Harry respected. The two became very close after Matt’s impressive actions in their war against Torchwood when freeing a hostage. In late 2021 however, Matt discovered love and left the Fireflies to live a peaceful life outside of Chernarus, occasionally revealing himself in times of need to support his friend. His choice to leave created a rift between the two, however they remained good friends. To this day Matt has not been seen for some time.

Kelemvor (Kel) - Kel was a friend and neighbor of Harry Churches while he lived as a Black Cross citizen. Kel has been described by Harry as an innocent soul, who was always good for a laugh, however after the death of a mutual friend Kelemvor was never the same and devolved into insanity believing their friend was actually still alive. During the funeral Kel took his own life while giving a speech at the altar. Harry was not able to save him as he was out of town at the time. His unfortunate death drove Harry further towards becoming a good person again and giving up his banditry, inspiring Harry to live for Kel and his legacy.

Bobby River - Bobby River is a young boy who was taken in by the Fireflies and brought under Harry’s wing. Their relationship is similar to that of a dysfunctional father and son. Bobby made many choices in his life after leaving the Fireflies which Harry did not approve of pushing the two further apart, leading Bobby into the hands of Harry’s enemies; Torchwood and the Rangers. Over time the two have managed to set aside their differences and forgive each other for pushing the other away.

Where are they now?
Harry Churches is still alive today, and leads the Fireflies as a symbol of hope using guerrilla warfare tactics and spreading rhetoric against the criminals and bandits of Chernarus. He can be found around every corner, both metaphorically and literally. He is in the hearts and minds of many survivors, reminding them that all hope is not lost, and that there will always be a light in the darkness.

Overview
Year Founded: 2019

Status: Active

Torchwood is a fanatical order on a mission to cleanse the world of all evil and build a new, better world by any means necessary. Their elitist belief system, brutal methodology and 'no exceptions' approach distinctly separates them from other good factions.

Strictly following their religion known as "The Light", members of Torchwood believe that brutal displays of violence against bandits, cannibals and those helping them is necessary if a new, better world is to be built. Despite this extremist approach, members are bound by their code to remain loyal, honorable and willing to die for those they consider innocent.

Alignment
Torchwood's alignment closely resembles the Anti-Hero archetype. While honest, fair and aiming to save the weak, the impulsive and sadistic nature of their punishments often put them at odds with other more traditional hero factions.

Appearance
All black is mandatory for Torchwood members, accompanied by a standard orange face mask designed to discourage individuality and promote collectivism. Earned via ceremony upon formally joining, removing their mask is forbidden except to eat, drink and smoke. To do so in the company of outsiders shows a level of trust or vulnerability.

Origins
Initially formed as a general contracting company, Torchwood aimed to complete jobs and use their payment to survive and provide for those in need. Newly-formed and low in numbers, they were pushed to the mercy of Dark as Midnight (DAMN) by attacks from The 506th based on the color of their newly orange masks. They agreed to do mercenary work for DAMN in exchange for safety and the chance to save innocent survivors caught in Gorka via recruitment, and the two groups mutually coexisted for over a year.

While this took place, Torchwood built a community camp in Dolina called The Lighthouse to aid survivors coming from the eastern coast. As tensions with the newly formed Odyssey and by extension DAMN rose, The Lighthouse was destroyed, nearly pushing Torchwood to extinction. That night, the surviving members of Torchwood listened to a speech given by their leader Damien White, the contents of which would later be referred to as the first Revelations, and used as the basis of their religion of The Light.

As all out war with Odyssey loomed in response to the attacks on Dolina, the leaders of Torchwood expressed interest in meeting with DAMN to discuss their seemingly damaged alliance. At the same time Overlord Draven was killed and overthrown by the new Queen Iris, Chip was excommunicated from DAMN's ranks, hurting the political relationship of both groups even more, having lost their main point of contact.

Upon meeting with the new leadership of DAMN and learning of Chip's excommunication, all of Torchwood leadership were betrayed and killed via firing line. This event is internally referred to as 'The Day of Martyrs', but is most famously known as 'Cheeseburger'. Born from the codeword spoken by Queen Iris before the massacre, it is now used as an offensive slur against Torchwood's surviving members.

Radicalized by the loss of all leadership, their religion took even deeper roots, manifesting in the discovery of the first Messiah Cain, believed to be the reincarnation of Damien White. As upholding their traditions took focus, they became isolationist, paranoid, and much more aggressive to outsiders as a people as the now ongoing war with DAMN continued.

As their religion continued to evolve on the fringes of Chernarus, they were forced into a nomadic lifestyle by a combination of their enemies hunting them and general persecution of their ideals. This pressure would ignite their radicalization, isolating them further and fuelling what was already a slowly growing extremist regime.

Notable Characters
Damien White - Founder of Torchwood and The Light, Damien was a charismatic, empathetic person turned into what even he would describe as a monster. Kind to a fault, the wartime lifestyle of Torchwood weighed on him heavily. Slowly radicalized by this pressure, he saw a growing need for change, and until his death was willing to form the new world no matter the cost. He was killed by Queen Iris of Dark As Midnight on the Day of Martyrs.

Cassidy Lyon-White - Founder of Torchwood and wife of Damien, Cassidy's charisma and diplomatic role helped foster several positive relationships early on. Much less radical than her husband, she served as a moral compass, ensuring Torchwood did not become what they fought against. With her faith placed in both him and her family, she saw little need for The Light, and grew to not only resent the ideology but disavow it completely upon her husband's death.

Jason White - Founder of Torchwood and brother of Damien, Jason's stoic nature and survivalist mentality served as fuel to Torchwood's growing extremism. Quicker to anger than his younger brother, Jason served primarily as an enforcer and acting leader in Damien's absence. Upon his death, both Jason and Cassidy left Torchwood, abandoning The Light in search of a better life due to their shared loss.

Cain the Messiah - Saved by surviving members of Torchwood after the Day of Martyrs, Cain is believed to be the reincarnation of Damien White. Only 12 years old when The Fall happened, he grew up in a post-apocalyptic world, continuously honing his skills of manipulation to survive. Despite what are undeniably sociopathic tendencies, he aims to accomplish his predecessor’s goal of building the new world.

The Arsonist - While initially a target of Torchwood's bounty hunting, a man named Jack Petrov was instead shown mercy and recruited; his arrival signifying the end of Torchwood's tenure as indiscriminate mercenaries for hire. Forming a close mentorial relationship with Damien, he was eventually granted the Phoenix title of 'The Arsonist' for burning the Staroye Overlook after the Day of Martyrs. One of the only surviving members of Damien's tenure, he was who found and advocated for Cain to take the role as Messiah, training him as such, mirroring his own relationship and training with the now deceased Damien.

The Vanguard - Recruited by Cain as the McCoy civil war began, Pavel Victorivich earned his title by guarding The Messiah on many occasions, as well as personally defending against and being the sole survivor of the attack from DAMN on what was the Church of Light, located in Mogilevka. A skilled tactician and accomplished marksman, The Vanguard's relationship with Cain The Messiah is closer than most, being the first person Cain ever recruited in Torchwood.

The Warden - Having initially joined Torchwood with close friend High Acolyte Rush, The Warden quickly distinguished himself from his fellow foundlings by both killing several DAMN members and acting as a natural leader. Much older then all of the other members of Torchwood, he earned the title of The Warden while Torchwood lived on Prison Island by personally training, disciplining, and teaching less experienced members.

Cleetus McCoy - One of the first Phoenixes of Torchwood, Cleetus McCoy and his brothers instigated a succession crisis within Torchwood following the Day of Martyrs. Leading the newly formed McCoy faction, they sought to overthrow Cain as leader of Torchwood and instill Cleetus as his replacement, believing Cain to be incapable and an unworthy successor. After killing High Acolyte Jack Houston, they retreated to Severograd in an attempt to build a FOB for use in the civil war, but were stopped by a militaristic branch of the Black Cross. Created by Jarge who would later join Torchwood and then leave to form The Sentinels, the small death squad of black helmets mass executed members of the McCoy faction, killing every member except Cleetus McCoy himself who has still avoided capture.

Chip - While not a member of Torchwood, Chip’s influence on the group as a whole is significant. Originally a second in command to Overlord Draven of DAMN, Chip was the one who decided to spare Damien after walking into Gorka, offering them the alliance and serving as the main point of contact between the two groups. Years after being excommunicated from DAMN and forming The Rangers, he was sold to DAMN by his members and executed via firing line.

Goals
Torchwood believes that the Fall is serving as a great filter, slowly weeding out the weak, evil and complacent via natural selection. Believing the moral foundation of their religion to be the end result, they attempt to not only spread their faith to willing survivors, but to also bring upon the New World faster by killing, torturing or enslaving anybody who they consider to be evil and/or immoral.

Philosophy
Torchwood believes in The Light, a dogma that guides every decision they make. The Light consists of four tenets, abbreviated as SHLD. They believe this moral foundation is inherently superior, and those who live by it will rightfully inhabit the New World.

Strength
- staying true to your morals in the face of adversity.

Honor
- Face your foes as warriors, never as cowards.

Loyalty
- Brotherhood above all; Family is everything.

Death
- Live for what you love, and die for what you live for.

Completely dedicated to their mission, members of Torchwood are willing to kill, torture, rob, grievously injure and enslave people who they consider to be bandits, in addition to enforcing their own will upon those who they consider weak and incapable of protecting themselves. They do not care for the autonomy or freedom of innocent people, only their physical safety. This causes many to misinterpret their heavy handedness as selfishness or hypocrisy, but neither is inherently true.

Relationships
Allies
Torchwood's untrusting nature actively discourages the formation of alliances, but they often work with and or protect other 'good' groups such as the Black Sheep, The Fireflies, Black Cross, and the Staroye Overlook. However, conflict with these groups are common; Torchwood's elitist philosophy can very quickly lead to them deeming others as weak or incompetent, and their cruel and unusual way of dealing with bandits can disturb even the most determined heroes.

Neutral
While technically neutral themselves, Torchwood's prejudice for cannibals is only challenged by their distaste for pacifism. According to their ideals, refusing to pick a side in conflict places you on the side of the enemy; causing them to end up in conflict with many groups they would normally aid.

Enemies
Torchwood actively seeks to destroy all those who selfishly take from the innocent, commit the sin of cannibalism, kill or otherwise hurt good people. Combined with their often elitist and overbearing convictions, Torchwood attracts many enemies and few friends.

Notable Relationships
Dark as Midnight - Quite literally born under the wing of Dark as Midnight, modern generations of Torchwood still carry much of the brutality and violence that forged them. Upon the Day of Martyrs and subsequent attempted genocide, it was made tradition amongst members of Torchwood to burn red colored items and kill any potential sympathizers of DAMN, creating the foundation for their hate of cannibalism.

Black Cross - Historically a close friendship, Torchwood's relationship with the Black Cross was forever changed when they shot the volunteer HerrKurt. Frustrated with their pacifistic ideals, shooting him was the eventual result of Torchwood's attempt to radicalize them into more proactive action, such as banning all cannibals from their territory. In the months following, tension continued to grow as communication broke down between both groups, leading to their current relationship of open and armed conflict.

The Fireflies - Perhaps the most dynamic and interesting of Torchwood's political relationships, the two groups have been both friend and foe on many occasions. While being very similar morally, Torchwood's methodology has more than once sparked conflict between them. As a result, most members of Torchwood commonly despise the Fireflies, viewing them as incompetent and weak willed. Despite this, both leaders share a level of mutual respect, perpetually pulling their punches in hopes to one day 'redeem' the other.

Staroye Overlook - Before the creation of Torchwood and The Overlook, both their respective founders were close friends. That changed when in exchange for continuously protecting the Overlook, Damien White demanded that The Samaritan create structures in the compound to aid its defense. With The Samaritan refusing outright, tensions rose even higher with neither backing down. Not wanting to cause physical harm to the members of The Overlook, Torchwood opted to burn it to the ground with plans to erect a new, more strategic camp in Staroye. While no blood was drawn during this conflict, it has remained tense even after both leaders passed.

The 506th - Torchwood's first enemy, the 506th, continued to be so until the Day of Martyrs. Upon hearing what happened, George Luz, former leader of the 506th, both went to Damien's funeral and helped shepherd surviving refugees of Torchwood out west; fostering a loose friendship between himself and the newly appointed Messiah, Cain. Upon leaving the 506th and forming The Wanderers, George took their friendship with him, causing Torchwood to be extremely cautious and untrusting of all 506th to this day.

Forsaken Loyalists - With few interactions to speak of, their relationship is incredibly unique. Despite being morally opposed on all fronts, both groups' strict adherence to honor and their respective laws often puts them on the same side of conflict. Bound by the doctrine of their faith, Torchwood cannot technically harm Forsaken Loyalists without proof of wrongdoing. Combined with the Forsaken Loyalist's code of silence, both groups are locked in an ongoing stalemate; one that will likely someday end in conflict.

Dark Carnival - Similarly as George, Bozo the Clown also went to Damien’s funeral, and the subsequent friendship that formed between him and Cain temporarily remedied what was a tense relationship with the Carnival. As Bozo went missing the Carnival took a darker turn becoming the Dark Carnival, forcing Cain and the rest of Torchwood to once again be at odds with the resurgent evil faction.

Rangers Chernarus - Upon being excommunicated from DAMN and after hearing about the Day of Martyrs, Chip went to Cain, seeking the same mercy Chip had given a younger Damien while still in DAMN. After pardoning him, The newly founded Rangers and Torchwood were loose allies, bonded only by their leader’s history as opposed to morality or goals. After Chip was killed, the alliance went with him, and the relationship between Rangers and Torchwood was never able to recover.

After Chip was killed, the alliance went with him, and the relationship between Rangers and Torchwood was never able to recover.

The Black Cross - Historically a close friendship, Torchwood's relationship with the Black Cross was forever changed when they shot the volunteer HerrKurt.

Overview
“Long Live the Light!”

Allies
Torchwood's untrusting nature actively discourages the formation of alliances, but they often work with and or protect other 'good' groups such as the Black Sheep, Fireflies, Black Cross, and the Staroye Overlook.

The Black Cross - Historically a close friendship, Torchwood's relationship with the Black Cross was forever changed when they shot the volunteer HerrKurt.

Overview
“Long Live the Light!”
