“Vatos For Life Fool!”

Overview

Year Founded: 2020

Status: Inactive

The Vatos are a notorious group of thugs consisting of three cousins; Chuckie Martinez, Marcos “Babushka” Morales, and Carlos Hernandez. They were sent to Chernarus on illicit international drug business. Nothing is more important to the Vatos than ensuring their own survival. They gained their notoriety by running the pockets of everyone they came across. If you have the misfortune of running into them, you are sure to leave with a much lighter load. Although they are notorious bandits, they do not have a history of senseless murder, as they believe that you are most useful if you are still breathing. After all, you can’t rob a dead man twice.

Alignment

The Vatos do what they please. They do not care about your politics, your borders, or your bullshit. They do not tolerate disrespect, but will be quick to disrespect others. They are what many see as the “Classic” bandit, specializing in holdups and robberies.

Appearance

The Vatos can be spotted easily by their notoriously good looking outfits. A crispy flannel shirt, with dual bandanas to match. Light blue jeans, and matching Converse sneakers. The Vatos are rarely caught looking terrible. Fashion is of the utmost importance to the group.

Origins

The Vatos had a bit of an unorthodox start on DUG. The three players had just disbanded from another group, and were lost with what to do next. Carlos’ and Babushka were just running around robbing people with a Mexican accent. It was actually another member of the community, Sauly, who named the group. He had such a good time getting robbed that he asked the community if they knew who “The Vato Guys” were that robbed him. They then brought on Chuckie and the rest is history.

Territory

The Vatos have never made a claim on the map, and they spit on everyone else's borders. They un-officially claim everything north of Devils Castle, regardless of who else lives there. They like to remind everyone that they come across that The Vatos run the north, and you either get with it or get the fuck away from it.

Goals

The Goal for The Vatos has always been simply to survive in a land run by groups much larger than they are, rob as many people as they can, and look good while doing it. Everything is about securing more gear and food for their survival. They barely loot the villages and towns of Chernarus, and would much rather that you loot it for them.

Values

Honesty: The Vatos will never shy away from consequences, they will be sure to tell you exactly what they’ve done. In their minds, there is no need to lie about it.

Loyalty: The trio prides themselves on loyalty to the family, no matter what.

Greed: As a group of bandits, greed drives the Vatos to rob and kill, although they usually only take what they can carry.

Pride: The Vatos are loud, and proud. They will take severe action on anyone who tries to hurt their pride.

Independence: The Vatos do not need anybody but themselves. In a land full of giant factions, they pride themselves on being beholden to no-one.

History

The Vatos began terrorizing the north in late 2019. They had many spats with the groups who inhabited the region, oftentimes started due to their members getting held up and robbed by The Vatos.

Severograd Citizenship The Vatos have a long history with the northern city of Severograd. The territory, officially controlled by The Black Cross, has always been where The Vatos have considered home. However, there has long been an underlying tension due to conflicting ideals with the medical group that controlled the city. The Vatos were evicted by The Black Cross on multiple occasions.

Notable Evictions:

- Babushka threw a grenade into the aid station when a known enemy was inside, killing and injuring many.

- Babushka shot Shirley from Torchwood inside of a packed aid station, and casually walked out.

- The Vatos were demanding rent from The Dugout, who used their political pull to get The Vatos evicted.

- The evictions led to multiple attacks on many northern settlements.
