Overview
Group/Faction Affiliation: Coalition
Status: Alive
A man with a complicated history in Chernarus, Michael Damian Greene, known as “Greeny”, a nickname he earned through his time in the military, is a man who elicits mixed responses from the citizens of South Zagoria. Some regarded him as a scheming backstabber who was not to be trusted. While others saw him as a loyal friend who did what he believed was necessary to survive. He is known by most today as the proprietor of the House of Hope and the Overseer of the Coalition before most of his group were murdered by the Cult of Papa, leading to its dissolution.
Appearance
Greeny’s appearance has evolved over his time in Chernarus. While serving as Sheriff of The Village, he was always seen sporting a signature green cowboy hat. Today, he is most recognized by the green poncho he wears over his head. Adopted after leading a group called the Dark Angels, the poncho served as a constant reminder to Greeny to never return to the depraved life he descended into for a period after The Village collapsed.

Origins
Greeny was brought up in a working class household in South Carolina. His older sister died of a drug overdose when he was 18, leading to his father falling into a deep depression and ultimately taking his own life two years later. Greeny worked odd jobs and occasionally engaged in petty crime in order to provide for his ailing mother until she too, passed away when Greeny was twenty-eight years old. Having nothing left in the States, Greeny took a job on a container ship. A rogue wave would send his ship to the bottom of the Green Sea on his first voyage. Greeny would be the only survivor and wash up on the shores of South Zagoria.
Demeanor
Often reserved and guarded, Greeny was usually a man of few words. People who knew him well would say that you could never be quite sure what was going on inside his head. Though, when required, he could be charismatic. Greeny has given several speeches at diplomatic meetings, weddings, and other public events. He officiated the wedding of Matt of the Overlook and Sierra the Witch in Staroye and delivered a nationwide speech over the radio, encouraging the people of Chernarus to never lose hope during a period of ritual killings by the Cult of Papa.
Most of the time, Greeny left the day to day business of hosting guests at the House of Hope to his fellow Coalition members, being mostly content to manage the group from the background and further his research on the Cult of Papa. However, he did enjoy occasionally sharing his experience and trading information with the visitors that frequented the House of Hope.
While he did run a community camp, Greeny was not a pure altruist. He was a pragmatist, sometimes to a ruthless degree. He believed that ends usually justify means and that sometimes good men must do terrible things for the greater good. His life is a delicately balanced house of cards that could come crashing down at any moment.

Actions
Village Serial Killer Investigation
Shortly after receiving the title of Sheriff from his first group, The Village, Greeny was faced with the task of investigating and apprehending the culprit of a series of murders that plagued the citizens he was now in charge of protecting. After discovering a hidden note in a sniper’s perch just outside the Village compound in Adamovka, Greeny determined that the killer or killers were members of the Village itself. After conducting searches of Village citizen stashes and personal affects, Greeny was on the verge of making an arrest before the suspected killer fled Chernarus, never to be seen again.
Raphael and the Dark Angels
Following the fall of the Village, Greeny’s mental health would take a turn for the worse. Deeply angry over the disappearances and deaths of his friends in the group, Greeny would conjure up an alternate identity, Raphael, to channel his wrath through. Being a deeply religious man, Greeny would come to believe that Raphael was a servant of Azrael, the angel of death, and would strike a bargain with him, giving Raphael full control of his body in return for an opportunity to right the wrongs that lead to the collapse of his former group. Greeny/Raphael would go on to found the Dark Angels, a religious cult that served Azrael and sought to cleanse Chernarus of all sinners, whether they were truly guilty or not.
Greeny would utilize his new faith as justification for murder, robbery, and torture, and would draw the ire of several groups, most notably Odyssey. He would also find himself at war with the 506th during a period known as the War of the Four Faiths, where Greeny was instrumental in the formation of an alliance between the religious groups in Chernarus at the time, Dark Angels, Wolves of Selene, the Order of the Isle, and Eclipse. Together, the alliance would fight a war with the 506th, with multiple raids being conducted by both sides and several bloody firefights before the war eventually fizzled out inconclusively.
Over time, the Raphael persona would fade and Greeny would abandon the Dark Angel’s church in Novaya Petrovka and flee to the south, establishing a small camp in Komarovo before ultimately, joining the Wolves of Selene at the behest of his long time friend, Runa.
Capture and Attempted Execution

Not long after Greeny joined the Wolves of Selene, Greeny would be captured by May and Elias of the newly formed Revenants. A former 506th member, May sought revenge over what she saw as a betrayal from her former friend Greeny when he fought against her in the War of the Four Faiths. Under the guise of a one on one meeting to reconcile, May would lure Greeny into a trap at the church west of Gvozdno and capture him with the help of Elias and Alex. After disarming and binding him, they would take Greeny to Altar, where they would attempt to execute him with a sword. Greeny would ultimately survive, but would lose an eye, and anything that was left of Raphael would be gone.
House of Hope
Greeny would spend many months with the Wolves of Selene before Runa’s relationship with Lewis of Odyssey would eventually lead to her dissolving the group and joining them. Greeny, who at that time had become disillusioned with the politics of Chernarus, would take up residence in the fortress house just west of the town of Svergino. Seeking a life of solitude and wishing to atone for the actions in his past, he would begin farming out of the greenhouse at his new home and leaving food for travelers in makeshift shelters he would build on the property. He would name this small community camp the House of Hope.

It wasn’t long before the Forsaken Loyalists would take notice of the House of Hope and would come to Greeny, demanding monthly rent in exchange for his continued existence in the house. Greeny would comply, but he would harbor bitter resentment toward the club after they forced him to watch their attempt to execute Dill, a former member of the Golden Peppers and one of his closest friends.
The Loyalists weren’t the only group to take notice of the House of Hope. Within weeks of the camp’s founding, the Cult of Papa would begin to make its presence known.
Coalition and the Cult of Papa
After running the House of Hope as a solo venture for a few months, Greeny would meet a woman, Ivy, at an event in Novaya Petrovka. Ivy would see the potential of the House of Hope and would join Greeny in running its operation. Eventually, the two would found the Coalition, a group whose goals took inspiration from historical groups like the Guardians and Firekeepers. Together they would seek to aid and establish other community camps across the Northeast and turn the region into a safe and prosperous region to settle in.

Greeny’s new group would attract many new recruits from the beginning and quickly became one of the most influential groups in South Zagoria and the House of Hope would become one of the most popular POI’s in the land. His success did not come without its troubles. From the beginning, the Cult of Papa would take interest in the Coalition, launching numerous attacks against the group. Greeny has been nearly killed on multiple occasions by the Cult. Once, on the cliffs of Stary Yar, where the Cult ambushed Greeny, Ivy, and Wisp, leading to the killing of the Cultist Nameless. And on another occasion where Greeny was captured and left bleeding out with a broken leg by Vici, the Cultist behind the Mogilevka Church Massacre.
Greeny would over time, become obsessed with the Cult of Papa, and would spend hours reading Cultist literature and writings of survivors like RedStar, who had long fought the Cult. His obsession would reach its peak after the murder of Ivy by the Cult, when he organized the Stary Yar Summit, a “secret” meeting to discuss how to fight them and raise awareness. Greeny would instruct members of the Coalition to invite many groups and solos from across Chernarus and advise them that the summit was to be kept secret. Greeny encouraged as many people as possible to attend, hoping that the Cult would catch wind of the summit and make an appearance. During a time when most of Chernarus’s citizens did not take what Greeny saw as an existential threat to them all seriously, knowingly putting many people in danger, he hoped that Cult activity at the summit would wake people up.
Post summit, Greeny’s obsession with the Cult would deepen, leading to the eventual downfall of the Coalition. Blinded to the danger, Greeny would send several Coalition members to a church sermon led by Father Abraham, which would come to be known as the Mogilevka Massacre. Two Coalition members were killed by the Cult in the massacre. Greeny would attempt to hold the group together in the aftermath, but would eventually make the decision to dissolve the group for the safety of the few remaining members.
Notable Relationships
Wisp
Coming to see her as the daughter he never had, Greeny would mentor Wisp upon meeting her when she joined the Coalition. Drawing her into his obsession, together they would come face to face with the Cult on several occasions. Greeny would elevate Wisp to be his second in command after the murder of Ivy and would unknowingly send her to her death at the hands of the Cult in the Mogilevka Massacre.

Runa
Likely the only close friend Greeny still has living, Runa and Greeny’s relationship began as adversaries during his time in the Village. They began to become close as Greeny got to know the Wolves of Selene and spent time with them in the twilight days of the Village. During the War of the Four Faiths their friendship would solidify as they fought a common enemy in the 506th.
Forsaken Loyalists
Greeny would maintain a tense relationship with the Motorcycle Club. First, being a client of the Club in both the Dark Angels and the Wolves of Selene. Despite the House of Hope being extorted for rent, Greeny would recognize that the outlaws could be useful and maintained a respect for Club President, Joe Fraser. He would turn on the Club when he was forced to witness the attempted execution of Dill and would begin to attempt to quietly impede on the Loyalist's operations while maintaining a compliant demeanor around the Club. Including directly aiding Odyssey in their conflict with the Club by providing intel and indirectly starting a war between the Woodsmen and Fireflies when he second handedly leaked details of a meeting he overheard between the Woodsmen and Loyalists. Greeny would spend a brief period as a hostage of the Club in an attempt by them to lure the Cult of Papa into a trap.
HOST
Greeny would become friends with Rosco and Delilah, the leaders of the Hunters of Simple Trade after meeting and trading with them at the House of Hope. He and the Coalition would aid them in their relocation from Stary Yar to the Northeast and the groups would trade frequently. Their friendship would sour after a brief war between the Coalition and HOST, and the Black Mountain Rangers would lead to distrust between Rosco and Greeny as to each other’s true intentions. Their budding rivalry would come to a head after the Stary Yar Summit, when Greeny, Wisp, and Gary were wounded after a gun battle between the groups stemming from HOST suspicions that Coalition were in league with the Cult of Papa.

Mamie & Ember
Greeny would meet Mamie and Ember while Mamie was still a member of the Fireflies. He would become inspired by their vision to create an archive of the land’s history and would aid them in establishing it under the Coalition flag, first in the Gvozdno church and later in the Church North of Novodmitrovsk. He would ask the former Dugout member to join the Coalition after her departure from the Fireflies and would lean on both her and Ember often for guidance when it came to researching and combatting the Cult of Papa. When Mamie was forced by Dark as Midnight to collect five ears or face death, Greeny would cut off one of his own ears in order to spare Mamie from having to potentially kill an innocent. Mamie would eventually depart the lands for a time and when Greeny was pressed by the Forsaken Loyalists to give them the name of the Coalition member who had been talking about Club business with Odyssey, Greeny would give up Mamie, seeing it as the lesser evil and a way to save his own skin in the moment.
Odyssey
At one point, Odyssey was considered public enemy number one to Greeny. Their relationship started in a highly antagonistic fashion when members of Odyssey held up members of the Dark Angels and questioned them about their activities. His relationship with the group would begin to warm after Greeny opened the House of Hope and would trade with and feed Odyssey, attempting to make up for his past. He would seek the counsel of Lewis and Shifty about running a community camp due to their histories running the Dugout and Vigil. While under the thumb of the Forsaken Loyalists, Greeny would give intel he would discover about the Club to Odyssey.
Matt
When Matt of the Overlook would come to the Temple of Selene, during Greeny’s time with the Wolves of Selene, speaking of his troubles with the Cult of Papa, Greeny would never take him seriously. He would often ridicule Matt over his fears of a group that Greeny wasn’t convinced even really existed anymore. He would be forced to admit his mistake and seek Matt’s guidance when the Cult began taking a dangerous interest in the House of Hope. Matt would often remark that Greeny had become the new Matt to the Cult, before he was eventually captured and sacrificed by Cultists on the cliffs above the ORCC trade post, the first sacrifice.
Vici
Greeny would first encounter the new leader of the Cult of Papa at the House of Hope. Sensing that he was at the very least a spy of the Cult, Greeny forced Vici to leave the community camp. He did not realize in that moment just how drastically the man who would come to be known across Chernarus as “Lord” Vici would change his life. Weeks later, after a bloody attack at the House of Hope, Greeny would willingly submit himself to capture by Vici, hoping to gain insight into the man’s mind. His brief captivity would end with a broken leg, a charge from the Cult leader, “Return to your former suffering”, and a promise that the two would meet again.
The two would eventually speak again over the radio, after Vici’s capture and murder of Ivy, the second sacrifice. In exchange for learning the location of Ivy’s body, Greeny would make a promise to Vici that when his time came, Greeny would walk into the Void willingly and would not resist. The two would speak over the radio on other occasions, with Vici always reminding Greeny of his promise and ominously threatening that his time was coming. Vici would die after murdering Wisp carrying out the Mogilevka Massacre before Greeny would ever have to keep his promise.
Where are they now?
Greeny attempted to hold the Coalition together after the Mogilevka Massacre, but ultimately decided that for the safety of its few remaining members, the group should dissolve. He still maintains the House of Hope, but now spends most of his time on the move, disengaged from the politics of the land, hoping to stay one step ahead of the Cult who he fears may still come for him in the future.
