The Coalition was a civilian organization based at the House of Hope in northeastern South Zagoria. Founded by Greeny and Ivy, it developed from Greeny's agricultural settlement into a regional community focused on mutual aid, trade, diplomacy, and cooperation. The Coalition maintained the House as a publicly neutral settlement where travelers could obtain food, medical assistance, information, and opportunities for trade. Its relationships gave the organization influence beyond its relatively small membership and made the House a frequent location for public gatherings and diplomatic activity. Its involvement in regional politics also brought several disputes to the settlement.
The Coalition's later history was shaped by its investigation of the Cult of Papa, which developed into a conflict involving infiltration, abductions, manipulation, and ritual killings. Political disputes, internal divisions, and the deaths of several members during the Cult's 2025 resurgence left the organization unable to recover. The Coalition gradually ceased functioning after the Mogilevka Massacre, although the House of Hope continued under the stewardship of Blood.
Alignment
Neutral Good
The Coalition supported independent survivors and Northeastern communities through mutual aid, diplomacy, and regional cooperation. Although it publicly described itself as neutral, the group used that position to maintain access across political divisions, gather intelligence, monitor other organizations, and advance its own interests. It provided humanitarian assistance while also working behind the scenes against groups it considered threats to the House of Hope, its members, or the wider region.
Appearance
The Coalition primarily identified its members through teal armbands rather than a standardized uniform. Members otherwise maintained distinct appearances, reflecting the group's emphasis on personal independence and its identity as a collection of individuals. They generally wore civilian or practical clothing and did not typically carry heavy armor or weaponry.
The Coalition also possessed a flag bearing its symbol: a handshake with a plant shoot growing from the soil behind it. Flags displayed at the House of Hope, the Prometheus Archives, and Maybe Medical indicated Coalition support and oversight. Their presence at the Archives and Maybe Medical did not indicate ownership or direct control of those independent projects.
Origins
The Coalition developed from the House of Hope, a civilian settlement established by Greeny in northeastern South Zagoria on October 18, 2024, after his departure from the Wolves of Selene. The House began as an agricultural project intended to provide food and supplies to passing survivors during a period of scarcity. Greeny cultivated crops around the property and made them freely available, gradually attracting regular visitors. In early December, Greeny met Ivy at a Polifair, a regional market event in the Northwest. Ivy encouraged him to expand the House's purpose beyond agriculture by establishing contact and cooperation with other communities. As more survivors became involved, the community surrounding Greeny and Ivy developed into the Coalition. The two of them served as its Overseers, while the House remained its headquarters and social center throughout its existence.
Territory
The House of Hope served as the Coalition's headquarters and principal territorial presence. Located at the Klyuch ruins near Svergino, it was maintained as a civilian community rather than a military stronghold or a means of controlling the surrounding region. Its cultivated areas supplied food to Coalition members and passing survivors, while the settlement also hosted public markets, diplomatic meetings, supply exchanges, and everyday social activity. Peaceful outsiders were generally welcomed regardless of affiliation. Although its relationships gave the Coalition influence throughout the Northeast, the group did not pursue extensive territorial claims.
Projects associated with individual members, including Maybe Medical, remained independently operated rather than directly controlled by the Coalition. The group briefly claimed Olsha, causing a dispute with GRID that was resolved through negotiations. The Olsha claim was rescinded following Maybe's departure from the Coalition. Elsewhere, the group lacked both the resources and the desire to patrol or enforce a wider territorial claim, which would also have attracted unwanted attention.
Goals and Values
Coalition members generally treated loyalty to one another as their highest obligation, at times placing it ahead of assistance to outsiders. The group otherwise sought to maintain the House of Hope as a stable civilian community and provide survivors throughout the Northeast with food, supplies, medical assistance, information, and shelter. Its members used diplomacy, trade, and mutual aid to support regional cooperation while protecting the House, its visitors, and neighboring communities.
Organization
The Coalition was initially organized around three roles. Ivy and Greeny served as Overseers, providing the group's principal leadership and handling major decisions concerning the House of Hope, diplomacy, security, and relations with other organizations. Groundskeepers maintained the House and the surrounding area near Svergino, while Facilitators traveled to other communities to assess their needs, provide assistance, maintain contact, and return with information.
As members developed individual specialties, they regularly assumed responsibilities associated with both Groundskeepers and Facilitators. The distinction between the roles became impractical and was abandoned in favor of a freeform structure based on experience and immediate need. Members retained considerable independence in how they supported the Coalition and could pursue specialized work through personal initiatives. The organization nevertheless depended heavily on personal relationships and individual participation, making the loss or departure of prominent members particularly disruptive.
History
Foundation (October to December 2024)
Greeny established the House of Hope on October 18, 2024. From a fortified house in northeastern South Zagoria, he cultivated the surrounding land to feed himself and passing survivors and allowed travelers to harvest what they needed. Regular visitors began arriving for food, supplies, and company. By early December, Ivy had joined Greeny in operating the settlement. She supported its humanitarian purpose but encouraged broader cooperation with other communities. Together, they contacted nearby camps, offered assistance, and expanded the House into the center of a wider civilian network that became the Coalition, with Greeny and Ivy serving as Overseers.
The Coalition's early development coincided with the events that first connected it to the Cult of Papa. At the time, the group around the House consisted primarily of Greeny, Ivy, and Will. On December 3, a mute man named Abhet visited the House and communicated with Greeny through written notes that referred to Papa and suggested that the settlement was guiding vulnerable survivors toward the Cult. Abhet returned the following day. Greeny disarmed and questioned him, but Abhet denied any hostile purpose. While Greeny was occupied with other arrivals, Abhet moved behind the greenhouse, proclaimed "Hail Papa," and killed himself. Another stranger then appeared and buried his body with unusual urgency. The man presented himself as an amnesiac and was temporarily called Gerald before later identifying himself as Alan. A third figure, Joseph, subsequently appeared under similar circumstances. The encounters led Greeny, Ivy, and Will to investigate whether Joseph was a surviving Firekeeper with memory loss or a Cult associate and whether Alan was connected to the same activity. Their investigation became the Coalition's first organized response to the Cult of Papa.
Expansion (December 2024 to Early 2025)
The settlement continued to grow through the end of 2024 and into early 2025. The Coalition's first major recruitment wave consisted of Pat, Wisp, Ophelia, and a volunteer known as X. Pat and Wisp formally joined around the same time after Joseph's first appearance. Wisp joined to find a purpose and home, while Pat became involved in the community's social life and later formed close friendships with Ivy and Maybe. Ophelia had previously known Greeny through the Wolves of Selene, and the two maintained a sibling-like relationship. She lived near the Svergino dam and had worked as a marine biologist before arriving in Chernarus, where she studied the changes affecting the region. X had already volunteered at the House before formally joining, but his membership was brief and he disappeared several months later.
Will and Nattasha Petrov formally joined around the same period. Both were former members of the Overlook, while Nattasha had also belonged to the Wolves of Selene. Will had participated in the House's early Cult encounters before formally joining. He and fellow former Overlook member Matt had been hunted by the Cultist Nameless, giving Will a direct reason to oppose the Cult among other incidents. He also studied the work of Redstar, whose records documented earlier campaigns against it. Nattasha similarly shared the group's opposition to the Cult but remained wary of Greeny. Gary and Thomas would later join at approximately the same time as well. Thomas regularly volunteered at the House, although his involvement gradually declined before he disappeared from Coalition life. As membership increased, agriculture remained essential to the House, while construction, medicine, communications, diplomacy, security, and other responsibilities became part of its daily operation. On January 9, a grenade attack seriously injured three people, including two Coalition members who had been assisting a traveler. The Coalition nevertheless continued welcoming peaceful visitors. During January, Maybe began visiting regularly and interacting with members and travelers, although she had not yet joined the organization.
The Stary Yar Incident (January 23, 2025)
The Coalition's investigation reached a turning point at Stary Yar. Gerald, now calling himself Alan, had remained close to the group while members attempted to determine his identity and connection to events around the House. Their investigation led them into an ambush involving Joseph and Callum, during which they learned that Gerald and Alan were false identities used by Nameless, then-leader of the Cult of Papa. Wisp was nearly killed during the confrontation but survived and killed Nameless. Joseph was shot in the crossfire by Callum, narrowly missing Greeny. Callum was then put down by Ivy.
Wisp had joined the Coalition to help others and find a stable home and had shown no particular interest in the Cult before the incident. Afterward, she would take a personal role in investigation and began documenting Cult activity. Nameless's death also made her, Greeny, and Ivy direct targets of the surviving Cultists. Coalition members consequently placed greater emphasis on identifying Cult members, documenting their activities, and protecting the House from retaliation.
Vici and the Escalation of the Conflict (January 25 to February 5, 2025)
Nameless's death did not end the Cult of Papa, and surviving Cultists continued operating throughout South Zagoria. Vici became directly involved in the Coalition's conflict shortly afterward when he appeared at the House of Hope. Greeny and Ivy treated him as a Cult associate and ordered him to leave. Vici withdrew to a nearby hill and watched the settlement before fleeing when Greeny approached. On February 5, following an armed Cult attack on the House and the wounding of an Odyssey member named Joey, Vici demanded that Greeny identify the person who had killed Nameless. Greeny refused but agreed to meet Vici to protect Wisp and gather information. Vici forced him to surrender his weapons, covered his head, and led him through the woods while questioning him about his past. After Penguin of the Black Mountain Rangers interrupted the encounter, Vici shot Greeny in the leg and left. Wisp, Ivy, Nattasha, and Will later found Greeny and helped him return to the House.
The Cult increasingly directed its activity toward individual Coalition members rather than the House alone. Cultists also used their knowledge of personal relationships within the Coalition in subsequent threats and manipulation. At the same time, the Coalition's growing regional involvement drew its members into unrelated disputes, including Gary's conflict with the Dark Carnival.
The Gary Games (March 1, 2025)
On a routine visit to the Fireflies, Gary was caught between the crossfire between them and the Dark Carnival. This would lead to several encounters involving kidnappings, games of life-and-death, and threats made upon visitors at the House of Hope. Gary's repeated encounters with the Dark Carnival eventually culminated in the Gary Games, a series of trials in which his survival was the central prize. Although the event arose from the Carnival's interest in Gary rather than a formal conflict with the Coalition, his membership drew other Coalition members into the preparations and the event itself. Ivy worked to improve his chances of survival, while Pat, Maybe, and Mamie attended the Games.
Greeny's absence from the Games increased tensions with Ivy and deepened their disagreement over the Coalition's responsibility to protect individual members. Later on, during the medical visit in which Greeny and Wisp received ear transplants, Maybe also had an encounter with Tedic that damaged her trust in Coalition leadership. Maybe remained a member, but her relationship with Greeny and the organization deteriorated. Ivy began withdrawing from daily Coalition affairs after the Games, remaining close to Maybe while visiting the House less frequently.
Regional Influence and Independent Projects (Early 2025)
By early 2025, the Coalition had become involved in the political and civilian life of the Northeast. Greeny and Ivy maintained contact with numerous organizations while attempting to preserve the House of Hope as neutral ground where survivors with conflicting affiliations could interact. The Coalition generally favored practical cooperation over formal alliances. It provided food and medical assistance, while the House offered a location for trade, discussion, and contact between independent survivors and organized groups. Greeny also used public radio announcements to communicate Coalition policy and respond to regional disputes. Maintaining neutrality became more difficult as the Coalition developed relationships across existing political divisions, since its contact with one organization could be interpreted by its rivals as support. These tensions later affected its relationships with the Forsaken Loyalists, HOST, and the Black Mountain Rangers. The House also became associated with independent civilian projects, including the Prometheus Archives and Maybe Medical.
While Mamie was establishing the Prometheus Archives, Dark as Midnight harassed her over her former membership in the Fireflies and instructed her to collect human ears as proof that she was no longer affiliated with them. To prevent Mamie from obtaining the ears by killing or mutilating unwilling survivors, Greeny, Ivy, Wisp, and Nattasha each volunteered to have one ear removed. Greeny and Wisp would later receive ear transplants during the same medical visit in which Tedic encountered Maybe. Maybe's work through Maybe Medical and her relationship with Ivy gradually brought her closer to the Coalition. In March, she formally made a request for membership. Greeny initially distrusted her and expressed concern about her influence upon Ivy but ultimately accepted the request, and presented her with a Coalition armband. During the same period, Cult associates continued demonstrating detailed knowledge of Coalition members and their personal relationships.
Odyssey and the Forsaken Loyalists (Spring 2025)
The Coalition developed a close relationship with Odyssey despite earlier hostility between Greeny and several of its members. Greeny had previously clashed with Odyssey at the Wolves of Selene castle but later repaired relations by helping the group with an eviction in Severograd. His loyalty to Runa, who had joined Odyssey, also helped bring the groups closer. Shifty and Lewis used their experience leading civilian settlements to advise and support Greeny and Ivy without initially demanding payment or formal obligations. Their support became particularly important when the Forsaken Loyalists began demanding payments from the House of Hope. Odyssey pursued a ceasefire to protect the Coalition and preserve stability around Severograd, while Greeny took additional undisclosed risks on Odyssey's behalf.
While Odyssey and the Loyalists were at war, Odyssey captured a Loyalist named Benjamin Smits near Khelm and used him to deliver an offer: the Loyalists were to leave Severograd, the House of Hope, and the independently operated Prometheus Archives alone, while Odyssey would stop interfering with their activities elsewhere. Ben and Highlander later arranged negotiations that culminated in a meeting between Lewis and Joe Fraser. In response to Odyssey's earlier killing of Blake Tirty, Joe demanded that Odyssey surrender another person in exchange for peace and specifically named members of Dark as Midnight as possible targets. Odyssey refused to abduct or deliver another survivor. A temporary ceasefire remained in place during negotiations, but the talks produced no lasting settlement.
The Northeast Market and Black Mountain Rangers (May 4 to 31, 2025)
On May 4, the Coalition hosted the Northeast Market at the House of Hope. Approximately fifty to sixty people attended, making it one of the settlement's largest gatherings. The market brought independent survivors and numerous organizations together for trade and social contact and was ultimately intended to draw the Cult into the open. No Cult attack occurred. Instead, the event produced a confrontation with the Black Mountain Rangers, whose access to the House had previously been restored after earlier disputes. During the market, BMR members abducted Delilah of HOST and subjected her to interrogation and mutilation over HOST's relationship with the Forsaken Loyalists. Members of the Coalition and Rise Against, who were hired as event security, responded by detaining the remaining BMR personnel and removing them from the gathering. BMR members later returned to the House and opened fire, killing several bystanders and damaging the settlement. Coalition leadership rejected BMR accusations that the group was acting as an informant or sympathizer for the Loyalists and publicly condemned BMR. Members rebuilt the settlement with assistance from ORCC, the Fireflies, and HOST, completing approximately ninety-five percent of the reconstruction by May 14.
The attack brought a dispute between visiting organizations directly onto Coalition territory. The conflict with the Cult also continued. On May 15, Wisp was abducted by Vici and another Cultist identified simply as Doc. They restrained and repeatedly cut her before releasing her. Although their immediate objective was not established, Wisp's killing of Nameless and continued investigation had made her and other Coalition members recurring Cult targets. Other Coalition members sought information from outside sources, such as how later that month, Nattasha contacted Gideon of the Woodsmen, whose previous connection to the Guardians made him a potential source of information. By the end of May, the House had been rebuilt and remained active, but Ivy had grown increasingly distant, Maybe's trust in Coalition leadership had weakened, and the Cult was directing more of its activity toward individual members.
Death of Ivy Vašková (June 16, 2025)
By June 2025, Ivy had spent several months largely away from the Coalition. Her withdrawal began after the Gary Games and continued as her dissatisfaction with the organization's internal relationships increased. Although she remained in contact with Maybe, she rarely visited the House of Hope. Greeny and the remaining members continued maintaining the House, managing regional relationships, and investigating the Cult of Papa. During Ivy's absence and well after the Gary Games, Pat established Big Rock Candy Mountain Radio as an independent community project. On June 5, Cultists killed Matt of the Overlook, near the Outrider Caravan Company. Although Matt was not a Coalition member, his death affected members who had known him and later became part of the Cult's wider sacrifice campaign.
On June 16, Ivy returned to the House with Maybe after several months away. Less than twenty minutes after her arrival, the Cult attacked. Survivors were incapacitated or scattered, while Doc forced Greeny and Wisp away at gunpoint. When Coalition members returned, Ivy was missing. Doc later instructed Greeny to contact Vici, who informed him that Ivy had been killed. Vici offered to reveal the location of her body in exchange for Greeny's agreement to enter what the Cult called the Void willingly when his own time came. Greeny agreed and received the information necessary to locate Ivy. Her death removed one of the Coalition's founders and intensified existing distrust between Maybe, Greeny, and Wisp, as Ivy had remained Maybe's closest connection to the organization. Pat proceeded to discontinue Big Rock Candy Mountain Radio following Ivy's death.
The Twelve Sacrifices (June 16 to 24, 2025)
Vici's conversation with Greeny established that Ivy's murder was part of a wider campaign. He identified Matt of the Overlook as the Cult's first victim and Ivy as its second, with ten more intended to follow. Research into earlier Cult activity connected the killings to a ritual involving twelve sacrifices, making the renewed campaign a regional threat rather than retaliation directed only at the Coalition. On June 20, Greeny instructed Coalition members to contact other organizations and invite them to a summit at Stary Yar. The meeting was intended to coordinate wider opposition and establish the renewed Cult campaign as a threat beyond the House of Hope. During the same period, Vici and several other Cultists intercepted Maybe while she was traveling alone and forced their way into Maybe Medical. They attempted to exploit her grief and resentment toward Greeny and Wisp, claiming that Papa could allow her to see Ivy again and portraying her isolation as evidence that the Coalition had failed her. While Maybe lied, providing a verbal agreement towards the Cult’s plan, she instead prepared a setup of her own for Greeny and Vici to kill each other in the process.
Coalition members continued gathering information while preparing for the summit. On June 23, Wisp intercepted a broadcast from Doc in which he threatened Greeny, Wisp, and Maybe individually and claimed that the Coalition would be destroyed. Additional broadcasts and reports placed Cultists around Stary Sobor and Mogilevka. Wisp also recorded Cult activity that would later be known to involveFather Abraham, a preacher associated with the Blackthorn Gang. The Cult had recruited Abraham and encouraged him to establish credibility as a religious figure capable of attracting survivors without immediately raising suspicion.
Stary Yar Summit (June 28, 2025)
During the months following the Gary Games, Wisp worked as a therapist for survivors from several groups throughout Chernarus. She provided therapeutic support that improved the lives of several survivors, while also using the practice to learn about conditions within other groups and assess whether the Cult of Papa had influenced or infiltrated them. She discontinued the practice following the Stary Yar Summit.
On June 28, the Coalition hosted a regional summit at Stary Yar in response to the Cult's renewed sacrifice campaign. Representatives from multiple organizations attended, while HOST provided security. The meeting was intended to coordinate information and opposition against the Cult while also provoking it into revealing itself to attendees who remained skeptical of the Coalition's warnings. A Cultist approached the gathering carrying an unpinned grenade, threatening to detonate it in view of those assembled. Delilah of HOST opened fire, causing the grenade to explode, though the only casualty of this explosion was the Dark Carnival member known as Boom Boom. The dead Cultist carried a note alleging that the Coalition was cooperating with the Cult. Although the attack confirmed the Cult's continued activity, the note reinforced existing suspicions about the Coalition and contributed to a subsequent confrontation with HOST in which Greeny, Wisp, and Gary were wounded.
Internal Fracture (June 28 to July 3, 2025)
The Summit intensified existing disagreements within the Coalition. After Ivy's death, Maybe accused Wisp of cooperating with the Cult, citing Wisp's repeated survival of Cult encounters and an occasion when she wore Cult robes in Olsha while carrying her Coalition armband. Greeny rejected the accusation and cited Wisp's abduction and torture in May as evidence that she remained a Cult target. Maybe subsequently barred Coalition members from Olsha and further separated herself and Maybe Medical from the organization. By the end of June, Greeny was contemplating having Maybe killed, with Shifty's protection preventing action against her.
Shifty, who had moved to Olsha after Odyssey became inactive, attempted to mediate while continuing to support and protect Maybe. He arranged a meeting at a barn in Severograd belonging to Kyoto and Aimee, where Maybe reiterated that the other Coalition members were not welcome in Olsha. The Cult continued to exploit these divisions. On July 3, Greeny, Wisp, Gary, and Pat heard a broadcast in which Vici addressed Greeny, Wisp, and Maybe individually, referred to Greeny's agreement to enter the Void, and suggested that the Cult could return Ivy. The Coalition's internal disputes and the Cult's manipulation of its members prevented the group from developing a unified response.
Mogilevka Massacre (July 13 to 20, 2025)
Unknown to the Coalition, the Cult of Papa had recruited Father Abraham of the Blackthorn Gang and encouraged him to establish credibility through his sermons. On July 13, Abraham invited survivors to attend a church service in Mogilevka concerning a growing darkness in South Zagoria. Unable to attend, Greeny selected Wisp, Gary, Pat, and Maybe as Coalition representatives. The expected attendance of HOST and other organizations made the gathering appear legitimate. Neither Greeny nor the selected representatives knew that Abraham and members of the Blackthorn Gang were cooperating with the Cult or that the service formed part of its sacrifice campaign.
On July 20, the Coalition delegation joined survivors from several organizations at the church. Blackthorn members placed the attendees under their supervision and disarmed them as the Cult revealed its involvement. Cultists and their collaborators then selected members of the congregation as sacrifices. Gary was killed nearly immediately by Vici during the execution. Wisp was offered the choice of allowing another attendee to die in her place, she refused and was killed.
Pat and Maybe survived. When the Cult attempted to separate Maybe from the remaining congregation, Pat offered himself in her place and had his leg broken. Maybe refused to accompany the Cult willingly and rejected its attempts to use Ivy's death to influence her. The surviving attendees resisted those controlling the gathering, during which Vici, Doc, and additional Cultists were killed and the remaining Blackthorn forces lost control of the congregation. Of the four members sent to Mogilevka, Gary and Wisp were killed, Pat was seriously injured, and Maybe had already become estranged from Coalition leadership.
Aftermath of Mogilevka (July 21 to August 3, 2025)
Initial information about the massacre produced confusion regarding its organizers and the reasons particular survivors had been targeted. The Cult's previous attempts to implicate the Coalition contributed to renewed suspicion, while Greeny's absence led to accusations that he had known about the trap. Wisp's previous encounters with the Cult and the allegations surrounding the Stary Yar Summit further complicated early interpretations. Information provided by Maybe, Pat, and other survivors identified the Cult and Blackthorn Gang as responsible and established that Greeny had not knowingly sent Coalition members into the massacre. He nevertheless accepted responsibility for selecting Wisp, Gary, Pat, and Maybe as representatives. The deaths of Wisp and Gary undermined his confidence in his leadership and the Coalition's ability to protect its members.
The deaths compounded Ivy's murder little more than a month earlier. The House of Hope remained occupied and surviving members continued using the Coalition name, but the group no longer possessed the leadership, active membership, or personal relationships that had supported its markets, diplomacy, regional initiatives, and Cult investigation. Maybe became increasingly disconnected from the organization, while Pat's injuries and the deaths of group members strained his relationship with Greeny. Shortly after the massacre, Pat established an independent park ranger program serving the Northeast. On August 3, the surviving members held a symbolic funeral for Wisp and Gary at a rock outcropping North of the House that Greeny had previously used for solitude. The site became the group's principal memorial to them.
Final Months (August to October 2025)
The Coalition continued after the Mogilevka Massacre, but its activities became substantially more limited. Pat continued operating the park ranger program he had established shortly after the massacre, while his relationship with Greeny remained tense. The program ended around the time the Coalition ceased functioning, after which Pat disappeared. Maybe had already become estranged from Coalition leadership, while the remaining survivors focused on maintaining the House of Hope rather than sustaining the group's markets, diplomacy, investigations, and regional initiatives. Greeny entered a period of self-imposed isolation following the deaths of Wisp and Gary. He later returned to the Northeast and attempted to rebuild the Coalition, but the relationships and active membership necessary to restore it had already been lost or damaged.
During this period, Blood became one of the members most consistently involved in maintaining the House and was appointed the successor of the House of Hope. The position represented stewardship of the settlement rather than succession to Coalition leadership. Greeny eventually withdrew from the organization, entrusted the House to Blood, and left the Northeast without formally transferring leadership of the Coalition. The organization subsequently ceased functioning as a coherent group, while Blood's stewardship allowed the settlement to continue. Greeny would later return many months later and join Odyssey.

Greeny
Founder of the House of Hope and co-founder and Overseer of the Coalition. Greeny remained one of the organization's principal leaders throughout its existence, overseeing the settlement's development, regional diplomacy, and response to the Cult of Papa. He would go on to consider Wisp his adoptive daughter, falling into depression after her death. He eventually entrusted the House to Blood and left the Northeast.
Ivy
Co-founder and Overseer of the Coalition who played a central role in expanding the House of Hope beyond its agricultural origins through diplomacy, public events, and regional cooperation. She would eventually enter a close relationship with Maybe. Ivy became increasingly distant from the organization during 2025 and was murdered by the Cult of Papa shortly after returning to the House in June.
Wisp
A member of the Coalition's first major recruitment wave who joined alongside Pat. Wisp had no particular interest in the Cult of Papa until she was nearly killed during the Stary Yar incident, where she discovered Gerald's identity and killed Nameless. She would end up developing a close romantic relationship with Nattasha Petrov. During the months following the Gary Games, she also provided therapy to survivors from several groups. She discontinued the practice after the Stary Yar Summit and was later killed at Mogilevka after refusing to allow another survivor to die in her place.
Pat
A member of the Coalition's first major recruitment wave who joined alongside Wisp. Pat became closely associated with the social life of the House of Hope and formed close friendships with Ivy and Maybe. He established and independently operated Big Rock Candy Mountain Radio. Pat survived the Mogilevka Massacre, his relationship with Greeny becoming strained afterwards, and he established a park ranger program serving the Northeast. The program ended around the time of the Coalition's dissolution, after which Pat disappeared.
Nattasha Petrov
A former member of both the Overlook and the Wolves of Selene who remained wary of Greeny after joining the Coalition. Nattasha sometimes used Coalition assignments as opportunities to undertake her own independent excursions. She shared the group's opposition to the Cult, developed a romantic relationship with Wisp, and departed shortly after Wisp was killed in the Mogilevka Massacre.
Maybe
A regular visitor to the House of Hope before entering membership, establishing the independent Maybe Medical clinic with Ivy in Olsha. Eventually, she would develop a close romantic relationship to Ivy and a close friendship with Shifty. Her clinic treated Coalition members and other survivors throughout the region, although her relationship with Greeny became increasingly contentious following Ivy's death, eventually parting ways with the Coalition.
Will
A former member of the Overlook who participated in the House's early encounters with the Cult before formally joining the Coalition. Will had been hunted alongside Matt by the Cultist Nameless and maintained an interest in opposing the Cult and studying the work of Redstar. After the death of Matt, he would become withdrawn, eventually departing from Chernarus a few months after the Mogilevka Massacre.
Gary
A former journalist whose involvement in a confrontation between the Dark Carnival and the Fireflies placed him on the Carnival's radar. Repeated encounters, abductions, and near-death experiences culminated in the Gary Games. He held a close friendship to both Ivy and Maybe. He was later killed while representing the Coalition at Mogilevka.
Blood
A Coalition member who remained involved with the House of Hope, taking on a more active role following the losses at Mogilevka. During the Coalition's final period, Blood became a steward of the House. Greeny ultimately entrusted the settlement to him, although Blood did not formally succeed Greeny as leader of the Coalition.
Relationships
The Coalition maintained relationships with numerous organizations throughout South Zagoria. Because the House of Hope attempted to remain accessible to survivors regardless of affiliation, these relationships were generally pragmatic rather than formal alliances and changed as regional politics developed.
Groups
Odyssey
The Coalition developed a close cooperative relationship with Odyssey despite earlier hostility between Greeny and several of its members. Shifty and Lewis used their experience leading civilian settlements to advise and support the Coalition, while Greeny repaired relations by assisting Odyssey in Severograd and taking undisclosed risks on its behalf. Neither organization initially demanded payment or formal obligations from the other.
Odyssey intervened when the Forsaken Loyalists began pressuring the House of Hope, pursuing a ceasefire intended to protect the Coalition, the Prometheus Archives, and the wider Severograd region. After Odyssey became inactive, its relationship with individual Coalition members continued through Shifty, who supported Maybe during the Coalition's internal fracture. Greeny formally joined Odyssey after the Coalition's dissolution.
Forsaken Loyalists
Well before the Coalition, the Loyalists had marched Greeny and his best friend Dill to Rify after accusing Dill of sympathizing with the Cult of Papa, then forced Dill into the contaminated zone. The incident contributed to Greeny's willingness to assist Odyssey against the Loyalists behind the scenes.
The Coalition's relationship with the Forsaken Loyalists included reluctant cooperation, financial pressure, and recurring conflict. The Loyalists demanded payments from the House of Hope, while Greeny maintained contact to protect the settlement and avoid a conflict the Coalition lacked the strength to sustain. Odyssey later sought a ceasefire under which the Loyalists would leave Severograd, the House, and the independently operated Prometheus Archives alone in exchange for Odyssey's noninterference elsewhere.
HOST
The Coalition maintained generally friendly relations with HOST through much of 2025 and cooperated with it during several regional disputes. Coalition members intervened following the Black Mountain Rangers' abduction of Delilah during the Northeast Market, while HOST later provided security for the Stary Yar Summit. Relations collapsed after allegations that the Coalition was cooperating with the Cult of Papa, culminating in a firefight in which Greeny, Wisp, and Gary were wounded. The relationship between the two groups remained tense and suspicious.
Black Mountain Rangers
Early disputes resulted in Black Mountain Rangers members being banned from the House of Hope before negotiations restored their access. Relations collapsed following the Northeast Market, when Rangers abducted and mutilated Delilah of HOST. Coalition members removed the remaining Rangers from the gathering, after which BMR members returned and attacked the House, seriously wounding Nattasha and killing several bystanders. Coalition leadership subsequently rejected the Rangers' accusations that the group supported the Forsaken Loyalists and ended its neutral relationship with them.
Dark Carnival
The Coalition's relationship with the Dark Carnival centered on the Carnival's treatment of individual members rather than a sustained conflict between the organizations. Gary's repeated encounters with the group culminated in the Gary Games, which involved several Coalition members and increased tensions between Greeny and Ivy. Maybe's encounter with Tedic also damaged her trust in Coalition leadership.
Dark as Midnight
Interactions between Dark as Midnight and the Coalition at the House of Hope were generally respectful and non-hostile throughout the Coalition's existence. Relations were nevertheless strained by the group's treatment of Mamie during the establishment of the Prometheus Archives.
Cult of Papa
The Cult of Papa was the Coalition's principal adversary. What began as an investigation into unusual individuals appearing around the House of Hope developed into a conflict involving infiltration, abductions, torture, psychological manipulation, ritual killings, and attempts to exploit divisions between Coalition members. The deaths of Ivy, Gary, and Wisp during the Cult's 2025 campaign substantially contributed to the Coalition's dissolution.
Associated Independent Projects
Several independent projects became associated with the Coalition through their operators, their proximity to the House of Hope, or the support they received from Coalition members. They remained organizationally separate and were not departments or territorial holdings of the Coalition.
Big Rock Candy Mountain Radio
An independent radio project established and operated by Coalition member Pat well after the Gary Games. BRCMR broadcast music, news, and community information and became closely associated with the House of Hope, though it remained within the complete ownership of Pat. The project ended following Ivy's death. Shortly after the Mogilevka Massacre, Pat established an independent park ranger program serving the Northeast.
Prometheus Archives
An independent archival project established by Ember and Mamie southeast of the House of Hope in Gvozdno. The Coalition supported the Archives when it encountered difficulties, and Mamie joined the Coalition while the project remained active. The Archives later closed, after which Mamie departed the organization.
Maybe Medical
An independent medical clinic established in Olsha by Maybe and Ivy. Maybe later joined the Coalition, and the clinic treated Coalition members and other survivors throughout the region. Maybe Medical nevertheless remained independently operated rather than functioning as a Coalition medical facility.
Legacy
The House of Hope and the civilian network surrounding it continued after the Coalition's dissolution. Greeny's agricultural settlement became a gathering place for survivors from numerous backgrounds and allowed the organization to develop regional influence through aid, trade, diplomacy, and cooperation rather than territorial expansion. Independent projects associated with Coalition members such as Big Rock Candy Mountain Radio, the Prometheus Archives, Maybe Medical, and Pat's park ranger program also contributed to this network without being directly controlled by the Coalition.
The Coalition was closely involved in the renewed activity of the Cult of Papa. Its members documented the Cult's re-emergence, uncovered Nameless's infiltration of the community, and attempted to organize regional opposition to the campaign of twelve sacrifices. The conflict exposed the risks created by the Coalition's open settlement, informal structure, and dependence on personal relationships. Greeny ultimately entrusted the House to Blood, allowing the settlement to continue after the Coalition ceased operating as a unified group.
